How to make the best carajillo in the simplest way

Carajillo is an exquisite Spanish drink that combines the intensity of coffee with the warmth of a liqueur.

The carajillo is one of the world's favourite cocktails, ideal both as a digestive after a meal and to enjoy while reading, chatting with friends or an afternoon with the family. Its charm lies in the fact that it combines two pleasures in a single drink, with coffee being one of its main ingredients.

Using our House Espresso , this recipe highlights the unique flavors of coffee, creating a pleasurable experience perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 House Espresso espresso (30-40 ml)
  • 30 ml of liquor (can be brandy, rum or brandy)
  • Sugar to taste (optional)
  • Cinnamon powder (optional, to decorate)

Utensils:

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the espresso: Make an espresso using our House Espresso , in your coffee maker. Make sure it is well concentrated to balance the flavor of the liquor.

  2. Heat the liqueur: In a small saucepan, gently heat the liqueur of your choice. Do this over very low heat to prevent it from boiling.

  3. Combine the ingredients: In a heatproof glass, pour the hot liqueur and then add the freshly brewed espresso. If you like it sweeter, add sugar to taste and mix well.

  4. Garnish (optional): Sprinkle a little cinnamon powder over the drink to enhance its aroma.

  5. Serve and enjoy: Enjoy your carajillo hot, ideal to enjoy after a meal or as an afternoon pick-me-up.
