Mercadona Coffee or Specialty Coffee: What to choose?

At Dfrnt Coffee, we love coffee and we want you to enjoy the best coffee experience too. That's why we invite you to discover the differences between Mercadona coffee and the specialty coffee we offer, and choose the one that best suits your tastes and needs.

What is specialty coffee?

Specialty coffee is characterized by its high-quality Arabica coffee beans, carefully selected and roasted to perfection in the mountains of Colombia. These coffees are grown in optimal conditions and processed using traditional methods that preserve their unique flavor and aroma, recognized worldwide for their delicacy, balance and fruity notes.

What are the differences between Mercadona coffee and Dfrnt Coffee's specialty coffee?

  • Origin and quality of the bean: Mercadona coffee usually comes from blends of beans from different origins, while specialty coffee originates from specific farms and is selected for its superior quality.

  • Roasting: Mercadona coffee is usually roasted darker, which can result in a more bitter and less complex flavour. Specialty coffee is carefully roasted to bring out the best attributes of the bean.

  • Freshness: Mercadona coffee is sold ground, meaning it has lost some of its freshness and aroma. Whereas specialty coffee is sold in beans and ground just before brewing, to preserve its original flavor and aroma. We also offer the option of ground coffee for added convenience, without compromising freshness.

  • Taste and aroma: Mercadona coffee generally has a simpler and more direct flavour, while specialty coffee offers a richer and more complex sensory experience, with more varied flavour and aroma notes.

  • Price: Mercadona coffee is generally cheaper. However, although specialty coffee is usually more expensive due to the superior quality of the beans and the care taken in their production, at Dfrnt Coffee we offer more affordable prices than other specialty coffees.
  • An important point to note is that Dfrnt Coffee's specialty coffee, thanks to its balanced, complex and naturally sweet flavor, does not need sugar to be fully enjoyed. Unlike Mercadona coffee, which tends to have a more bitter and simple taste, our coffee allows you to appreciate all its flavor notes without the need to add sweeteners. This way, you can enjoy a more natural, healthy and delicious coffee experience.

Choose Dfrnt Coffee and transform your coffee routine into an exceptional experience with the best quality-price ratio in the specialty coffee market.
