At DFRNT Coffee we want to preserve the authenticity and original characteristics of our coffee. That’s why we care for every detail in all phases of its process, ensuring an optimal quality experience in every cup. Discover the key stages our coffee goes through.
1. Cultivation 🌱
Our coffee comes from 26 farms in Risaralda, an Andean region of Colombia, at 1,600 meters altitude. The perfect combination of climate and soil offers exceptional conditions that allow obtaining beans of high quality and unique flavor.
2. Harvest 🍒
Harvesting is done according to the color of the cherry, which indicates the bean’s ripeness. Each fruit is selected manually, ensuring only the optimal beans move to the next phase, preserving unique flavor and character.
3. Processing 💧
At this stage, the green coffee bean is extracted from the cherry. There are two main types of processing:
-
Washed: Cleaning and controlled fermentation of the bean.
-
Natural: Drying the bean with the cherry intact, for a sweeter flavor profile.
From the combination of both methods comes the “honey” hybrid, which preserves the best of each process.
4. Roasting 🔥
The green beans are imported from the country of origin and stored under optimal conditions until roasting. This process transforms:
-
Color
-
Volume
-
Density
-
Flavor
-
Aroma
-
Body and acidity
At DFRNT Coffee, we roast our beans at 174°C for 15 minutes, achieving a coffee that preserves its nuances, natural oils, and authentic original flavor.
5. Packaging 📦
After roasting, the coffee is carefully packaged in bags with a one-way valve, which allow the release of carbon dioxide produced and prevent air from entering, protecting aroma and freshness.
6. Storage 🛡️
To maintain quality, coffee must be protected from:
-
Humidity
-
Heat
-
Air
-
Light
-
Odors
If it’s not going to be consumed immediately, the ideal is to store the coffee in an airtight container, ensuring it retains its properties for longer.
Every stage of the process of DFRNT Coffee is designed for you to enjoy a coffee fresh, aromatic, and with authentic flavor, from the farm to your cup.
