How to prepare a Café Bombón?

Make a creamy and delicious café bombón at home with this quick and easy recipe. Did you know that café bombón is a popular drink in Puerto Rico and Spain? If you love specialty coffee and condensed milk as much as we do, this simple recipe is definitely for you.

Ingredients:

  • 20 ml of condensed milk
  • A double espresso (approximately 60 ml)
  • Optional: Whipped cream or cocoa powder to decorate

Utensils:

Instructions:

  1. Make the espresso: In your Italian coffee maker (if you haven't already got one, we have the Bialetti Venus Italian Coffee Maker at Dfrnt) fill the bottom base with cold water up to the valve. Place the filter in the bottom base and then fill the pot with ground coffee without pressing too much. Screw the top of the coffee maker on and place it on the stove over medium heat. When the water starts to boil and rise up the central tube, reduce the heat to low and let the coffee brew for about 2 minutes.
  2. Pour the condensed milk: In a clear glass, pour the condensed milk.
  3. Add the espresso: Slowly pour the hot espresso over the condensed milk.
  4. Mix gently: Using a spoon, gently stir the ingredients to combine the flavors.
  5. Decorate (optional): If you wish, you can decorate your café bombón with whipped cream or cocoa powder.
  6. Enjoy! Savor this delicious coffee bombón as a gift for your senses.

Tips:

  • For a more intense flavor, use a dark roast espresso.
  • You can adjust the amount of condensed milk to your taste.
  • If you want a colder version, you can prepare the espresso with cold water and then heat it in the microwave before adding the condensed milk.
